Not Jazz was formed in early 2025 after an independent record representative approached the members of an Indie Pop band called Young For Now. Although the band was not interested in a record deal the three remaining members (Charles Kazda, Stephen Brazier and Matt Santore) decided to continue playing their Chicago circuit, only this time with an emphasis on the fast and heavy music the group remembered playing in their formative years. That Hard Rock sound the band is quickly becoming infamous for comes from a love of early American Punk acts like Iggy Pop, The Stooges and Ramones as well as a deep appreciation for the current Australian Punk/Hardcore scene which harkens back to Bon Scott era AC/DC.
